Common Good Approach

A framework I use to make decisions is a common good approach. The common good approach refers to actions that are taken to put the best interest of society, rather than a group of individuals. This approach has seen to be the best decision in the long run as it produces positive and beneficial results.

My decision-making technique comprises of assessing the information I have , developing alternatives, and thinking through the impact it will have on society as a whole. I am a firm believer in acting ethically and understanding the larger impact my decision can have. After founding my startup, I’ve had to make many challenging decisions in regards to employee pay and COVID precautions. For example, after one of the interns tested positive, I requested for all interns to quarantine until they got their test results because I did not want their health to impact people taking public transportation, their family members, and other people they could have had contact with.

This approach has been working really well with me and I personally feel it is best technique for achieving long term success as well.
